All my bags are packed, I'm ready to go...

The long and drawn out departure appears to be imminent. I have a flight to Ottawa booked for Wednesday wherein I will get my visa processed in person. At that point I plan to catch the first flight to the Orient and get my China on. This has been a very long and stressful month, I'm very relieved that the end is in sight. Or the beginning, I guess, depending on how you look at it.

Learn something while you're away. The ladies will be like butter in your hands.

Keep blogging and have a safe trip!

  2. Hey Duncan...This is the weirdest "comment" you will ever receive as it's not really a comment, but a hello. I noticed your last name on the buzzer in "our" building and thought I would try to contact you to say "hey" and "thanks for the apartment." Haven't got my cell hooked up to the buzzer yet. This is Paula, obviously the one that took your apartment. I absolutely love the place. Still not unpacked...living out of bags and boxes...been a hectic week. I used to have a 2 BDR on the 3rd floor on the other side of this building that I loved as well. What a tiring move weekend! Moving sux. I got the kitchen looking pretty good, but that's it. What is the deal with that oven??! One rack, no drawer...ancient knobs that I don't even comprehend??!! haha. I was told you were going to Korea to teach English (Draga)...but it looks like China, Math & Science? haha. I'll be honest with you...I seriously thought you were a lot younger than what your profile indicates, and that you were going to do the typical...teach English in Korea thing (that a lot of my friends have done in the past)...to escape from reality and make some good coin...to pay off student loans. What an experience this will be. The pics of your new home and school look amazing and not at all how I would picture things to look. Why do I always think...3rd World? It's more like the S. End of Hali is 3rd World...haha. Have you been taking any Chinese? Wow. Good luck on your endeavors. Feel free to contact me @ Lightizer@hotmail.com (MSN). Be neat to see some pics of your travels on here. I can send you some pics of the apartment...once I get all settled in. I'm a fellow Leo too! Leo's rule! Take care :)

  4. Dear Paula,

I can't agree more, moving does suck. And yeah, that was a weird post.

You're right, math & science in China of all places. Safe to say that I was surprised. Good old Duncan, never know where he'll end up.

I definitely know what you're saying about perceptions toward China, and, to be fair, in the developing world there are definitely a lot of examples where perception meets reality. There are tremendous disparities between well-to-do and those less fortunate.

Take care, and hey - I'm also a Leo. WTF?!

  5. Hey Duncan,
I just googled Richard Tyson Riggs and your picture came up. Just joking buddy! Sounds like you are having the experience of a lifetime!
Patrick and Luke have their first acting jobs this afternoon. Both will be simulated patients for the med school. I'll let you know how it goes.
